Joining the Band
The Band takes anyone over the age of 8 Years old. There is no upper age limit.
There is no requirement to be able to read music or play an instrument. We will teach you to read music, play an instrument and to march.
We will even provide you with an instrument to start you off.
All this for £35.00 per quarter.
The Band has a Child Protection Policy in operation and also runs a Band Welfare Policy for all Members.
What do we do?
The Band is made up of two parts, a Marching Band and a Concert Band. Ideally everyone would be part of both. However we will accommodate anyone. Anyone who cannot play an instrument will be trained before they are expected to take part in either part of the Band.
What can I Play?
You can play any instrument that can be found in a Traditional Marching Band.
For example;
Percussion includes Side Drums, Bass Drum and Cymbals.
Brass includes Cornets, Horns, Baritones, Euphoniums, Trombones and Bass.
Woodwind includes Piccolo, Flute, Clarinet and Saxophone.
When and where do we meet?
The Band meets on:
Wednesday 6.30pm – 9.30pm and Sunday 10.30am – 12.30pm at;
The St John Ambulance Centre, Kingsfield Business Centre, Philanthropic Road, Redhill RH1 4DP
